Fan
Bingbing & Aarif Lee in Penang
19 Dec – Penang is
getting more popular as a filming location in the eyes of international
filmmakers, seeing as Chinese goddess Fan Bingbing and "Cold War"
star Aarif Lee are now in the northern state of Malaysia to shoot their latest
comedy "Surprise In One Night", according to Sin Chew-i.
"Surprise In One Night" is directed by
Eva Jin, who gained attention from global movie critics and her Chinese
filmmaking compatriots with her romantic drama feature "Sophie's
Revenge" in 2009. Her upcoming romantic comedy follows Michelle, a
successful advertising firm executive in her 30s and her efforts in dealing
with different men and a surprise after attending a birthday party.
Jin and her team already reached Penang last
Saturday to observe potential sets for the film's scenes.
Lee, 25, also announced that he had arrived in
Penang on his Weibo account recently. The Hong Kong Film Award winner even
uploaded a picture that he snapped of a "Cold War" poster on a street
in Penang.
Two months ago, the residents in Penang were
able to get up close with Hong Kong drama king Wayne Lai who filmed his first
ever local film "The Beggar Hero". By Jccollbox , Jccollbox Poster
